What FDA-approved inks mean for your operation
Food contact surfaces require inks that meet FDA standards for incidental food contact. If a supplier is vague about their ink certification, that is a gap worth closing before a health inspection surfaces it. Our inks meet the standard; we will confirm it in writing on a quote.
The difference from overseas product
Imported greaseproof paper sold through American distributors does not always carry the same ink certification. It may also perform differently under heat - the Rusty Keg Tavern switched to Art Printing after their overseas greaseproof started melting in the oven on a 200,000-unit run. The ink problem and the heat problem tend to travel together.
