What's the difference between grease-proof and waxed paper?
Grease-proof paper resists oil and moisture through the manufacturing process — no coating required.
Waxed paper has a thin wax coating applied after manufacturing, which provides a higher level of grease and moisture resistance and a slightly different feel.
